Pete Mitchell has led Vancouver Film Studios as President and Chief Operating Officer since 2010 after a decade of progressively senior executive responsibility with the organization. Pete is responsible for the growth and financial management of VFS production facilities, including line responsibility for its production services business, Pacific Backlot Services, and communications division, Signal Systems.

He is widely recognized for his business leadership and environmental initiative in transforming VFS into one of the most successful production facilities in Canada, and the first of its kind to acquire carbon neutral status. Pete is past Chair and current Executive Committee member of the Motion Picture Production Industry Association of British Columbia (MPPIA), and is a board member of the Vancouver International Film Festival.  Prior to joining McLean Group in 1999, Pete was Director of the British Columbia Film Commission. He has also been a partner in Compass Research, and a business agent for the International Photographers Guild, I.A.T.S.E.

Pete earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from Concordia University.
